Clara Berta grew up in the culturally rich and stimulating environment of a Hungarian enclave in Romania. She moved to Chicago at the age of eleven, then to Los Angeles where she received her BA in Psychology from Antioch University.
While also pursuing her interests in fine art and acting, Berta traveled extensively, grew beautiful gardens and explored other media including interior design and photography. She studied mixed media with Carol W. Slade and continues to concentrate on abstract expressionism through painting and unique monotypes.
Berta has exhibited widely through the years, and her works appear in collections both in the United States, and abroad. Presently, she produces commissioned work, and teaches mixed media and collage art classes in her Studio City studio.
